Are you passionate about supporting others and making a real impact in your community? This is an exciting time to join The Menopause Charity as we grow and expand our work in Manchester! With support from The National Lottery Fund, we are launching a new menopause peer support initiative, helping more people access the care, information, and support they need.
We’re looking for a self-motivated and passionate Peer Support Lead to drive this work forward, developing and delivering inclusive, community-based support for women and individuals experiencing menopause.
Location: Home-based, working across Greater Manchester
Hours: 21 hours per week
Salary: £16,200 per year (FTE £27,000)
Contract: 12-month fixed term
Closing Date: 14 April 2025
Interview Date: w/c 28 April 2025
What You’ll Do:
- Establish and lead peer support activitiesacross Greater Manchester
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteersto raise awareness and support community events
- Deliver engaging workshopsfor businesses, health services, and community groups
- Work with local services and healthcare professionalsto improve access to menopause care
- Ensure that all activities provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming space
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in developing community initiativesand/or peer support activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups
- The ability to work independentlyand take initiative
- A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring our services reach underserved communities
