Nqabisa conquers Kilimanjaro to raise menopause awareness
In a remarkable feat of strength and determination, Nqabisa Zulu has successfully conquered Mount Kilimanjaro, not just for the personal challenge, but to shine a spotlight on an often overlooked aspect of women’s health – menopause.
Embarking on her journey on October 27, Nqabisa’s mission went beyond the physical ascent of Africa’s highest peak. With every step, she aimed to raise awareness and funds for The Menopause Charity.
Expressing her motivation before the climb, Nqabisa emphasised, “Menopause is a natural part of life, but it can also be a difficult and isolating experience. That’s why I’m dedicating my climb to supporting The Menopause Charity, an organisation that provides vital support and resources to those going through this transition. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and to fundraise for this noble cause. “
After seven challenging days, Nqabisa reached the summit, where she not only conquered the mountain but also gained breathtaking views from the highest point in Africa. Reflecting on her accomplishment, she shared, “The trek was very, very hard, but absolutely worth it.”
On her return, Nqabisa shared that the trek was “very, very hard but absolutely worth it”. It took seven days to hike to the summit before witnessing the fantastic views from the highest mountain in Africa.
